Samsung Launches New Galaxy J5 (2016) And Galaxy J7 (2016) Smartphones

Samsung isn't taking a break when it comes to releasing new smartphones. The company has just announced the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016), which are budget smartphones with a premium metal frame.

While Samsung was highly praised for the design of last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, the premium metal and glass came with a cost. The handsets would drop two of its most popular features: microSD expansion slot and removable battery.

Samsung heard its critics and figured out how to bring back microSD expansion and even explained why it wasn't available on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge and how it was able to add the much-loved feature to its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are selling very well, and the company confirmed it during its Q1 earnings, which saw its profit rise.

The company shows no sign of slowing down most recently launched two new Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge models in a Pink Gold color.

Now, the company has released two new smartphones. This time the handsets are part of its budget Galaxy J series: the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016). The Galaxy J series has proven to be popular in the budget smartphone space now that they feature a premium metal frame.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED display and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A 1.2 Ghz quad-core processor powers the device, includes 16 GB of internal storage, and microSD expansion slot. It also has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy J5 uses a large 3,100 mAh removable battery.
